Hardware, configuration, and hardware replacement
netconfig sequence may leave ethernet port down. An ethernet interface link
detected status may not be “yes” after using netconfig. (TL-5502)
WORKAROUND: Run “ifup ethN” (where N is the number of the interface) to bring the
link up.
Error displayed on boot up after configuring external storage. An may error occur
on bootup after configuring external storage vaults: ioctl32(cmaidad:7855): Unknown cmd
fd(6) cmd(c054420b){00} arg(ffdf4690) on /dev/sg0. This message can be ignored. (TL-6004)
vts_default.conf refers to legacy keys. The extended information in the
vts_default.conf file regarding HSM has information referring to the hsm_username and
hsm_password keys. However, these are deprecated parameters. (TL-5306)
Using double quotes in the vts.conf file produces inconsistent results. Attributes
set in the vts.conf should use either single quotes or no quotes. (TL-5738)
Wrong driver used when changing a port from physical to virtual mode. When a
port is changed from “physical” to “virtual”, any physical devices attached to the port will
continue to function using the target mode driver. This configuration is unsupported. (TL-
5959)
WORKAROUND: Physical devices should be disconnected from VTS or moved to a port
configured for “physical” devices. Users should ensure that “virtual” ports only have
virtual devices attached and that “physical” ports only have physical devices attached to
them.
Required Log Pages for Ultrium are not supported. Host systems using NetBackup
connected to an emulated Ultrium VTD request Log Page 0x31 but VTS returns check
condition 5/24/00 “Invalid Field in CDB”. (TL-5941, EAR 7065)
WORKAROUND: Use DLT7000 or SDLT emulation instead.
SCSI speed is 3.3MB/s after TapeServer is restarted. If TapeServer is stopped and
started, the SCSI speed is negotiated to 3.300MB/s. (TL-4434)
WORKAROUND: To negotiate at 160.000MB/s, reboot the server.
Delay in reboot after pressing Reboot on the Reboot the System page. The web
interface does not indicate the status of reboot request after pressing the reboot button
and it may take time for all of the system processes to shutdown after requesting the
reboot to begin. (TL-4000)
