Virtual TapeServer 6.04.05 for NonStop Servers Release Notes

Known Issues | 34
`log/log'
cp: will not overwrite just-created `cfg/network' with `/etc/
sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/network'
cp: cannot stat `/usr/local/tape/patch': No such file or directory
ls: /vault: No such file or directory
WORKAROUND: Use the button on the web interface to obtain the logs.
Message logged to console and /var/log/messages until iLO is configured. Until
HP-iLO is configured, the following message may continue to print:
INIT: Id "s1" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
The message is also logged to /var/log/messages with no other information. (TL-2279)
System restore
Web interface does not clearly indicate location of system restore image. The
web interface does not indicate that the restore image file is saved on the local file system.
It also does not warn the user that the Save File dialog might be blocked. (TL-4011)
WORKAROUND: Ensure browser pop-ups are enabled.
No indication of system restore failure in log files. If a system restore fails, the
systemrestore.log and other logs do not log information about the failure. The only
indicator is displayed on the web interface, which says “An unexpected error has occurred,
please contact support.” (TL-4313)
“URL not found” message displayed when creating a system restore image with
insufficient disk space. If there is not enough space to create a system restore image,
the user should be notified that there is not enough space rather than a “URL not found”
message. (TL-4176)
System restore image is incomplete if there is insufficient disk space before
image. When attempting to create a system restore image on a system that does not have
enough disk space, no warning is displayed indicating that there is not enough room.
Instead, files are omitted from the TAR file. (TL-4021)
System restore does not handle database restore failure well. If a problem occurs
while restoring the database during a system restore, the server may be left with a partial
or no database. The return code indicates a failure, though it is unclear how to resolve the
failure. (TL-4099)
System restore image may duplicate database entries. Applying a system restore
image may duplicate database entries, causing the system to malfunction. (TL-4003)
WORKAROUND: Log in to the server, su to bill, and stop the vts_xmlrpc_server service:
service vts_xmlrpc_server stop
Then, apply the system restore image.
Documentation and help
Quick Search text box in help is misleading. The Quick Search text box only
searches the currently displayed page, though it could be mistaken for a help system-wide
search. (TL-5932)
WORKAROUND: Use the Search tab instead.
