Resolved Issues and Enhancements
The following changes have been incorporated into the software since the 6.04.05 release.
Hardware, configuration, and hardware replacement
QLogic driver has failover on by default. This conflicts with the use of multipath.
The Quick Start Guide now instructs the user to disable failover on the driver. (TL-6460,
EAR 7554)
Odd characters appeared on-screen when configuring system clock via PuTTY
session. Note that the odd characters do not negate the function, which can be performed
without setting PuTTY's character set translation. Now, the Quick Start Guide
documents how to configure PuTTY to avoid this problem. (TL-6187)
Wrong driver used when changing a port from physical to virtual mode. When a
port was changed from “physical” to “virtual”, any physical devices attached to the port
continued to function using the target mode driver. This has been fixed. (TL-5959)
vts_default.conf referred to legacy keys. The extended information in the
vts_default.conf file regarding HSM had information referring to the hsm_username and
hsm_password keys. These are deprecated parameters have now been removed. (TL-5306)
Upgrade and downgrade
Upgrade took a long time. Time to perform the upgrade may have increased
dramatically based on web access during the upgrade of the Ruby gems (part of the web
interface). This has been fixed. (TL-6137, EAR 7244, EAR 7261, EAR 7321, EAR 7349,
EAR 7422)
Upgrade errors occurred while trying to add patch info to database. Previously,
an error may have been reported that the upgrade failed because it couldn't update the
patch_list table in the database to enter the new build ID. Now, the patch_list table will
be created so that the new version will always be inserted correctly. (TL-6656, EAR 7304,
EAR 7626, EAR 7774, EAR 7776)
Applying multiple patches caused the restore image to grow exponentially.
Because the /bill/home directory was added to the image, the new image contained
multiple copies of the oldest image. Applying multiple patches caused the image file to
grow and may fill the partition. This no longer occurs. (TL-6339)
During upgrade, duplicate PTLIs for VTDs were removed. If a duplicate was found,
it was logged in the upgrade output. However, PTLIs for logical devices were not used and
may have been duplicates. The upgrade may also have sent messages stating that the
server.key and server.crt files were the same. These issues have been fixed. (TL-5978)
System unusable if hostname was changed after upgrade and a downgrade was
then performed. After an upgrade, if the system's hostname was changed by an
administrator, if a downgrade was then performed, it failed to complete, leaving the
system in a unusable state. This has been fixed. (TL-5196)
