Virtual TapeServer 8.0 Release Notes
Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 18
Backup performance could be impacted and debug log could grow significantly
if cinfo was performed on a bad virtual tape file. The following message appeared in
the debug log: [cinfo /VAULT01/SAVE/TM0131 vt] vt_read_block_header: Unable to read
block size information. Wanted 4, got 0. This no longer occurs. (TL-5077)
Web interface
Incorrect link shown after Set Refresh Rate for System Status was performed.
When you selected Set Refresh Rate for System Status from the Supervisor Functions
page and made a change, the System Status page was displayed but the link indicator
arrows were still pointing to the Supervisor Functions page. This no longer occurs. (TL-
4311)
Error message displayed on System Settings page and drives timed out when
physical library or drives did not respond. When a library or drive does not respond
with their details within sixty seconds, the Physical Drives section now displays a timeout
message. This allows other sections of this page to function normally even when there are
problematic drives or libraries attached to the system or if the drive is actively exporting
or importing data. (TL-6637, EAR 7855)
Capacity usage now displayed on System Status page. After entering capacity
license, capacity usage is now shown on the System Status page. (TL-5538)
Timezone and daylight savings time are now displayed. The format would be
Friday, June 17, 2011 01:06AM CDT. (TL-6143)
System Status page removed the ability to see what pools are associated with
each vault. The Storage report is now available that lists the vaults and their pools. (TL-
6302)
Autoloader failed to update the loaded virtual tape in the web interface. The
System Status page for an autoloading tape drive now displays the currently loaded
virtual tape. (TL-6585, EAR 7670, EAR 7901)
Could not log in after long period of inactivity. If the browser had been inactive for a
long period of time, you could not log in to the web interface. Only the top banner was
displayed. This has been fixed. (TL-5909, EAR 7403, EAR 7470, EAR 7529, EAR 7582,
EAR 7585, EAR 7586, EAR 7599)
Encryption was slow when using the Encrypt button on the web interface.
Performance has been improved when encrypting a virtual tape using the Encrypt button
on the web interface. (TL-6176, EAR 7401)
System Status page listed the local system time instead of the actual system
time when the timezone was set to WET. This has been fixed. (TL-6130, EAR 7253)
Firefox showed negative values on the System Status page. If you were using the
Firefox browser to view the VTS web interface, negative values may have been displayed
in the kb/sec column in the Connections table on the System Status page. This has been
fixed. (TL-347)
Obsolete page displayed. An obsolete page was displayed when you selected these
options: Manage Connections->Advanced->Manage Library Configurations->View
Library Configurations->Show Definition SCSI Data->Manage Connections. This has
been fixed. (TL-1619)
