Virtual TapeServer 8.2 Release Notes
Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 15
Not all users had access to the documentation on the About page. Now, any user
logging into the system can access the About page and the documents linked from the
page. (TL-6934)
Apply Revision Update page required the upgrade package to be local. Now, you
can upload this file from a remote server. (TL-5253)
Could not restart the web interface from the command line. If the service httpd
restart command did not work, a reboot was required to access the web interface. Now,
you can restart the web interface from the command line. (TL-6104, EAR 7250)
Model and platform information missing from About page. This has been fixed.
(TL-6875)
Web interface showed login inconsistently. Some pages showed that the user was
logged in and others showed the user was logged out. Other pages showed the user as
logged in but you could not get to the page actions, such as downgrading from the System
Updates page. This has been fixed. (TL-6854)
System Status page
$ in VTD name caused unexpected output on System Status page. If $ was used as
the first character in a VTD's name, the System Status page had a problem displaying
information on the VTD. This has been fixed. (TL-7422)
System Status page listed “No Cartridges” for each GFS vault. A VTS system in a
GFS environment may have listed “No Cartridges” for the vaults, if the GFS environment
has had to recover a file. This issue was due to a permissions problem allowing access to
the “lost and found” files. This has been fixed. (TL-6515, EAR 7664)
Too much information shown on System Status page for export with many
tapes. If a large number of tapes were exported, too much information was listed on the
System Status page. This has been fixed. (TL-6878)
Jobs (general)
Could not edit a mount job. Mount jobs were not editable; now they are. (TL-6850)
Manage Virtual Tapes and Manage Tapes and Pools (Advanced
Operations)
Web interface did not load the Manage Virtual Tapes page when requested.
When data-intensive tasks were occurring in the background, accessing the Manage
Virtual Tapes page could cause request timeouts. This has been fixed. (TL-6749)
Could not cancel a manual mount request using the Cancel button. If you pressed
the Mount button to mount a cartridge then pressed the Cancel button instead of the OK
button, the cartridge was mounted on the VTD. The operation was not canceled. This has
been fixed. (TL-543)
Performance of Manage Virtual Tapes page improved. Previously, this page took a
while to load ~1000 cartridges. This time increased exponentially if there were resource-
intensive operations happening in the background, resulting in web response timeouts.
This page has been improved and now processes are sent to the background when
necessary. (TL-4125)
