Known Issues
The following known issues, or “errata,” apply to the 8.2 release. The issue tracking number is
provided in parentheses. Refer to this number when making inquiries to Technical Support.
There is a table of tracking numbers listed in ascending order, with the summary and
document section number, in
Issue Index on page 62.
Hardware, configuration, and hardware replacement
Syntax error occurs when setting hostname using netconfig and DHCP is
configured. The following is displayed when setting the hostname using netconfig if
DHCP is configured: (TL-7656)
Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/http/conf.d/server_name.conf
WORKAROUND: Retry setting the hostname.
Cannot dedicate a network for data only if multiple systems do not share a
common network. For this configuration, netconfig cannot correctly configure the
appliances. (TL-7531)
netconfig allows invalid values for IP addresses, net masks, and hostnames.
Error messages are only shown when the operating system sees errors from these set
values. (TL-7599)
WORKAROUND: Rerun netconfig with corrected values to correctly set the values.
Key strokes are repeated when using IPMI interface remotely. This makes the
interface unusable because the repeated key strokes are unpredictable. This occurs
occasionally when remotely connected to the IPMI interface. (TL-7032)
WORKAROUND: Disconnect and reconnect to the IPMI interface.
Internal Server Error displayed if hardware is failing. If you attempt to access the
web interface while hardware is failing, an internal server error is displayed. Instead, the
attempt to communicate with the hardware should timeout. (TL-7346)
Changer not detected with 8Gb NPIV on AIX 6.1 Power 7. (TL-7139)
WORKAROUND: Rescan for VTL devices after initial discovery to find library devices.
VTS attached to HP EVA storage systems may experience long boot delays. This
is due to a firmware incompatibility with the EVA and the Linux software RAID driver.

published October 2009).(TL-7179)
WORKAROUND: The dmraid software RAID feature is not used with VTS and may be
safely disabled to overcome this delay.
Message no longer displayed to power off SCSI converter. When stopping
Tapeserver, the “Please power OFF all SCSI converters connected to this Virtual
TapeServer. Then Click 'OK'.” message is no longer displayed. However, you must power
off the SCSI converters when stopping Tapeserver. (TL-7336)
