System Status page
Error message displayed instead of System Status page if no vault is mounted.
When no /VAULT is mounted, the System Status page fails to load and displays the
“We're sorry, but something went wrong.” error page. This error will be seen when a
VAULT in the fstab file is not mounted. (TL-7450, EAR 8536)
WORKAROUND: Remove the entry for the specific VAULT from the fstab.
Sorting on System Status page is not persistent. Sorting on this page is only valid
until the page is refreshed, returning to its original state. (TL-6628)
System Status page indicates that TEST_UNIT_READY command was processed
and complete, but no commands were processed. The System Status page indicates
that a TEST_UNIT_READY command was completed. If the user looks at this to
determine if VTS is communicating with the host, it is misleading. The
TEST_UNIT_READY command is command 0x0. This is the initialized value that the
system is holding, and the system does nothing to determine if that initialized value 0 is
what’s there, or if an actual TEST_UNIT_READY command has been processed.
(TL-4940)
If too much data is transferred in a refresh period, the transfer rate and
compression ratio displayed on the System Status page may be inaccurate. If
more than 2GB of data is written during a refresh period of the System Status page, the
transfer rate and compression ratio may be invalid. (TL-880)
Jobs (general)
Ambiguous error message if export job fails to run. When a tape-to-tape or stacked
export job fails to run successfully, the error message is ambiguous. (TL-3985)
WORKAROUND: To determine the cause of the error, refer to the export.log and job.log
for tape-to-tape exports, and refer to hsm.log and job.log for stacked export.
Immediately canceling a job after it starts run may result in an error. (TL-6384)
WORKAROUND: Allow 10 seconds before attempting to cancel.
An active virtual tape may appear empty until activity on it has completed. This
will result in the virtual tape being skipped from some scheduled job operations. To avoid
this, scheduled jobs should be run on virtual tapes that are not currently in use. (TL-6741)
Canceled jobs show their status as Failed instead of Canceled. The job run for a
particular canceled job should list the reason as 'Terminated'. (TL-6736)
WORKAROUND: View the job results. The text will be correct and say that the job was
terminated.
Multiple jobs can be created with the same name. They will all run properly, but
editing and distinguishing results will be complicated. (TL-5741)
