Virtual TapeServer 8.3 Release Notes
Resolved Issues and Enhancements | 12
SCSI bus resets did not clear reservations. When VTS received a SCSI bus reset, it
should have cleared any existing VTD or VTL reservations, but it did not. The
reservations are now cleared. (TL-6096)
Cancels left in cancel queue might have caused backups to fail. Mount cancels
that remained in the cancel queue due to an infrequent timing issue, could have caused a
mount to be canceled that shouldn't have been. Cancels are no longer left in the queue for
over 24 hours. (TL-7456, EAR-8575)
Shutting down TapeServer took a long time. When TapeServer was shut down, ports
were put back into initiator mode which caused the shutdown to take longer. The ports
are no longer put back into initiator mode. (TL-7458, EAR-8610)
Web interface
This section has been subdivided to better classify the issues.
General
Failure to create or store a password did not result in an error message. If the
process of creating or storing a host password failed, the User Interface would not display
an error message and a blank password would be entered in the database. Now the UI
will display an error message and not modify the database. (TL-5635, EAR-7006)
The “halt system” link in the GUI did not power down the system. After clicking
the link the system still had to be powered off manually. The link will now power off the
system. (TL-7658, EAR-8880)
Some actions on the Advanced page did not appear for a user logged in as
Supervisor. Buttons for selecting actions on the Advanced page did not appear for a user
logged in as supervisor even though the Supervisor account had the access rights to
perform the actions. The correct buttons now appear for the supervisor user. (TL-7898,
EAR-9108)
System Status page
Error message was displayed instead of System Status page if no vault was
mounted. When no /VAULT was mounted, the System Status page failed to load and
displayed the “We're sorry, but something went wrong.” error page. This error was seen
when a VAULT in the fstab file was not mounted. The System Status will now display if
no /Vault is mounted. (TL-7450, EAR-8536)
Manage Virtual Tapes and Manage Tapes and Pools (Advanced
Operations)
Moving a pool to a different vault fails. Moving a pool to different vault using the
Tape and Pools page fails, with the error message “Cannot update a pool: Is a directory” It
is possible to rename the pool, but not move the pool between vaults. (TL-7731, TL-8044)
Virtual Tape creation, access and modification times have been updated. The
Virtual Tape creation, access and modification times have been updated to reflect the
times when the Virtual Tape had been created and accessed for read and/or write or when
the Virtual Tape had been modified. (TL-7447)
