Known Issues
The following known issues, or “errata,” apply to the 8.3 release. The issue tracking number is
provided in parentheses. Refer to this number when making inquiries to Technical Support.
There is a table of tracking numbers listed in ascending order, with the summary and
document section number, in
Issue Index on page 59.
Hardware, configuration, and hardware replacement
Adding or removing an HBA may cause the port configuration to change. Adding
or removing an HBA in a VTS may cause the port configuration on the Virtual Devices to
change. To resolve this, reconfigure the ports and resubmit the changes on the Virtual
Devices page. (TL-7750)
VTS installation using a TEAC DVD drive stops with an error message. VTS
installation on a VT5900-K, VT5900-M or VT5900-O platform using a TEAC DVD drive
(Model PU-DVR10-91) stops with the error message “Error downloading kickstart file”.
This is due to the USB driver being disabled during the installation. (TL-3515, EAR-9117)
Cannot dedicate a network for data only if multiple systems do not share a
common network. For this configuration, netconfig cannot correctly configure the
appliances. (TL-7531)
netconfig allows invalid values for IP addresses, net masks, and hostnames.
Error messages are only shown when the operating system sees errors from these set
values. (TL-7599)
WORKAROUND: Rerun netconfig with corrected values to correctly set the values.
VTS attached to HP EVA storage systems may experience long boot delays. This
is due to a firmware incompatibility with the EVA and the Linux software RAID driver.

etoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken (Document ID C01914818
published October 2009).(TL-7179)
WORKAROUND: The dmraid software RAID feature is not used with VTS and may be
safely disabled to overcome this delay.
Message no longer displayed to power off SCSI converter. When stopping
Tapeserver, the “Please power OFF all SCSI converters connected to this Virtual
TapeServer. Then Click 'OK'.” message is no longer displayed. However, you must power
off the SCSI converters when stopping Tapeserver. (TL-7336)
SCSI virtual devices may not appear immediately to AS/400. (TL-7320)
WORKAROUND: Reboot VTS and the device should be discovered.
netconfig will not continue if hardware error occurs on disconnected port.
netconfig should continue even if there is an error on another port (that is not currently
being configured by netconfig). (TL-7117)
WORKAROUND: Resolve the hardware error.
