Jobs (general)
On the Job Results page the cartridge status and encryption state are listed in
the same field. On the Job Results page for a Tape to Tape Export, the status of the
cartridge which was transferred is included in the same field as the drive encryption
state. The field labeled Drive Encryption will appear as: “Drive Encryption: false: OK”.
The false denotes the drive encryption and the OK is the status of the Cartridge transfer.

Job names can not contain spaces or special characters. A job name which contains
a space or special characters will cause the job to fail with the error “Missing
backupSystem in jobset'. (TL-7736, EAR-9006)
WORKAROUND: Use underscores instead of spaces in job names.
Ambiguous error message if export job fails to run. When a tape-to-tape or stacked
export job fails to run successfully, the error message is ambiguous. (TL-3985)
WORKAROUND: To determine the cause of the error, refer to the export.log and job.log
for tape-to-tape exports, and refer to hsm.log and job.log for stacked export.
Immediately canceling a job after it starts run may result in an error. (TL-6384)
WORKAROUND: Allow 10 seconds before attempting to cancel.
An active virtual tape may appear empty until activity on it has completed. This
will result in the virtual tape being skipped from some scheduled job operations. To avoid
this, scheduled jobs should be run on virtual tapes that are not currently in use. (TL-6741)
Canceled jobs show their status as Failed instead of Canceled. The job run for a
particular canceled job should list the reason as 'Terminated'. (TL-6736)
WORKAROUND: View the job results. The text will be correct and say that the job was
terminated.
Multiple jobs can be created with the same name. They will all run properly, but
editing and distinguishing results will be complicated. (TL-5741)
Manage Virtual Tapes and Manage Tapes and Pools (Advanced
Operations)
The Data Size column of the Virtual Tapes pages reports 0 Bytes in use for all
cartridges. The Data Size column of the Virtual Tapes pages reports 0 Bytes in use for
all cartridges in an auto loading pool, if any tape in the pool is mounted in the drive. (TL-
7783, EAR-9049, EAR-9438)
WORKAROUND: The tape size can be seen by selecting the tape name to view the
Cartridge Details popup.
Long pool names overlap into other fields on the Manage Virtual Tapes page. On
the Manage Virtual Tapes page, long pool names will overlap into other fields, making the
other fields unreadable. (TL-7813)
WORKAROUND: Use shorter pool names.
Sorting is not persistent on Tapes and Pools page. Making changes, such as adding
virtual tapes or deleting a pool clears the column sort on the Tapes and Pools page. (TL-
7994)
