Policy Based Actions
 If a pool had multiple policies defined, only the first policy triggered would run.
This issue has been resolved. (TL-8210, EAR-10654)
 When a pool was renamed the policies associated with the pool were not
transferred to the updated pool. This issue is no longer seen in version 8.4. (TL-7897)
AutoCopy, Instant DR, and Replication
 If an IDR job was run with the incorrect job name, the message: “Missing
backup System” was erroneously reported. The message: “The proper Jobfile not
found” is now reported. (TL-8178)
 If an Instant Data Replication (IDR) job was started from the IDR user interface
or an Event Management System (EMS) policy, an email notification may not
have been sent when the IDR job completed. Now, an email notification will be sent
when the IDR job completes, regardless of how the job was started. (TL-8368, EAR-10452)
 If ICMP was blocked, communication with a remote host failed. Since the remote
host attempted to ping the backup server name, if ICMP was blocked the communication
failed. This issue has been resolved. (TL-4371, EAR-6359)
 When performing a large (200 or more) number of replications, it was possible
that the Ethernet interface could become unresponsive. This issue is no longer
seen in version 8.4. (TL-7367)
 Instant DR job continued to display as running when a SSH connection has not
been established to the target system. Now the display correctly shows as complete
when SSH communication to the target has not been established. (TL-6832)
Data Encryption (SecureVTS)
 If a large number of encrypted virtual cartridges were configured, the root
partition might have been filled up. This issue has been resolved. (TL-8493, EAR-
11227)
 If the file permissions were incorrectly set for the key database file, the web
interface would display “Unable to restore backup because login credentials are
incorrect” when an attempt was made to restore the file. This issue has been
resolved. (TL-3001)
 If a Data Encryption license key was surrounded with quotes when entered,
Data Encryption was not fully enabled. This issue has been resolved. (TL-2320)
 Empty, unlabeled encrypted cartridges might have shown a compression ratio.
This issue is no longer seen in version 8.4. (TL-1088)
SMTP and notifications
 The name of the appliance was not included in email notification messages sent
by the appliance. The name of the VTS can now be added during the SMTP setup, and
will be included in e-mail notifications. (TL-5137, TL-8095)
