To disable ISC, two parameters must be set. The
ems_InterSystemCommunication_hosts and interSystemCommunication_enable
parameters must be set to indicate that ISC should be disabled. Otherwise, ISC will still
be enabled. (TL-0240)
WORKAROUND: To di
sable ISC, set these parameters in the VTS configuration file:
interSystemCommunication_enable=”NO”
ems_InterSystemCommunication_hosts=”ems_InterSystemCommunication_host
s=””
Then, stop ISC from the Manage System Tasks page.
Web interface
This section has been subdivided to better classify the issues.
General
Internal Server Error displayed if hardware is failing. If you attempt to access the
web interface while hardware is failing, an internal server error is displayed. Instead of
this error, the attempt to communicate with the hardware should timeout. (TL-7346)
A dialog box fails to close properly. In some instances a dialog box used to show
progress or feedback fails to close properly. (TL-7944)
WORKAROUND: Click on
any link or refresh the browser.
Vault mounted using multipathing is not listed on Manage File System Checks
page. (TL-7610)
Troubleshooting package will not download with IE8 in security toolbar. (TL-
6616)
WORKAROUND: D
isable popup blockers or add this as a safe and trusted website for
pop-ups. IE can prevent troubleshooting packages from being downloaded on the first try
but after disabling, will work correctly. Restarting the browser may also be required.
Web interface not refreshed after capacity license is applied. After applying a
capacity license, the old interface remains displayed and links are missing if you do not
refresh the browser. (TL-6866)
WORKAROUND: Refresh the
browser.
Encryption options can be checked when there is no encryption license set. The
Encryption checkboxes on the Edit System Settings and Create/Edit job dialogs work
inconsistently. If there is no license installed, it can be enabled in the Manage Settings
page but it is disabled on the job edit/creation dialogs. (TL-6773)
Information is not updated on the View Sg-Map Information page. The sg_map
information is not updated to reflect changes unless TapeServer is restarted. (TL-4163,
EAR-6219)
Web interface may fail to allow the virtual media removal from the virtual tape
drive. VTS supports the SCSI command to prevent a medium from being removed from a
tape drive. If removal is being prevented by the host server, the VTS web interface may
fail to allow the virtual media removal from the virtual tape drive. (TL-5063)
WORKAROUND: Use th
e host server to remove media instead of the web interface to
remove the media.
