Virtual TapeServer 8.4 Release Notes

Known Issues | 22
Editing a VTD without a license causes the VTD to be deleted. If the license is
removed and then you attempt to edit a VTD, the system deletes the VTD. (TL-3962)
Tape can be mounted in deleted VTD and the tape remains locked. If you delete a
VTD, VTS still allows you to mount a virtual tape in the deleted VTD. No data is lost but
the tape is locked. This occurs if multiple windows are used and actions are performed in
one window and affect the actions taken in the other. (TL-3156)
WORKAROUND: Remove the
lock using the Mounts and Locks page.
Date and time shown for locked cartridges is incorrect. The timestamp used for the
date and time when a cartridge is locked is incorrect. (TL-2551, TL-3429)
Message on Manage System Licenses page implies that key was saved when it
was not. On the Manage System Licenses page, if you select the Update checkbox, paste
a license key in the License Key field, and then deselect the Update checkbox, a message
is displayed indicating that the license key is already present. The message is displayed
even though the key has not been saved. (TL-3175)
WORKAROUND: Nav
igate away from and back to the page.
No message is displayed when system restore image is created. If you create a
system restore image, the web interface should display a message before creating the
image. Currently, the web interface does not indicate that it is creating the image and the
page may be blank for several minutes. (TL-3105)
Cartridges not owned by bill are not erased as indicated in the interface and log
file. However, the debug.log correctly indicates that the file failed to erase. (TL-2061)
System ID is displayed as rc=3 on Apply Software Change page. This can be
ignored. (TL-2287)
Clicking the browser Back button after creating a system restore image causes
download to start again. After clicking Support > System Updates > Create a System
Restore Image, a file download dialog box is displayed. After the file is downloaded or
canceled, you are presented with a web page indicating what has happened, but no return
link is displayed. Clicking the browser back button causes VTS to begin creating the
system restore image again. (TL-2179)
WORKAROUND: Use
the Return link on the interface, not the browser’s back button.
Pop-up windows display stale, cached data. When pop-up windows are displayed,
some browsers may display stale, cached data rather than the current information.
(TL-2342)
WORKAROUND: To ensure
that the information is accurate, use your browser's refresh
or reload function to update the information.
The selected menu item does not correspond to the displayed page when the
browser Back or Forward buttons are used to navigate the web interface. If you
use the Back or Forward button provided by the browser to navigate to pages on the web
interface, the previously viewed menu item is displayed on the main page but the
highlighted menu item does not go back or forward to the corresponding menu item.
(TL-0570)
System Status page
Sorting on System Status page is not persistent. Sorting on this page is only valid
until the page is refreshed, returning to its original state. (TL-6628)
