VTSPolicy commands
Q_INC and Q_DIFF variables used in the CommVault VTSPolicy backup all
cartridges. Q_INC and Q_DIFF variables used in the CommVault VTSPolicy should
backup the changed cartridges since the last backup. Instead, all cartridges all in the pool
are backed up. (TL-2770)
VTSPolicy TSM Archive command for a vault results in an error message.
Issuing a VTSPolicy TSM Archive command for a vault will fail to back up the vault. An
error message such as “Error: /VAULT00 not on this system” will be written to the VTS
log. (TL-0221)
WORKAROUND: A v
ault may be backed up by issuing VTSPolicy TSM Archive
commands for the individual pools or cartridges in the vault.
Scan/Cleanup
Scan/Cleanup cannot erase cartridges in VTLs. When running Scan/Cleanup, locked
cartridges in a VTL will not be erased after migration even though they meet the criteria
to be erased. (TL-4326)
WORKAROUND: Disable the VTL
or remove the virtual tape from the VTL.
Retention time is not displayed correctly on Scan/Cleanup page. Retention is
shown in weeks until retention time exceeds a year, then it is shown in years. Time is
stored as a number of seconds but incorrectly converted for display. (TL-2629)
Scan/Cleanup page performance is slow. Loading the Scan/Cleanup page is slow if a
large number of cartridges exists. It takes about a minute for a pool containing 1,000
cartridges. (TL-2358)
The Written metadata date option on the Scan/Cleanup page displays Never
instead of the correct date/time. On the Meta Data Control Panel on the Scan/
Cleanup page, the Written metadata option displays Never instead of the correct date/
time if you change the cartridge size or write to a cartridge. (TL-0264)
Scan/Cleanup is not enabled though the web interface indicates that it is.
scanat.log includes the “Scan/cleanup configuration error - auto erase not enabled.”
message, but the web interface shows that auto erase is enabled, and Scan/Cleanup did
not run. (TL-3702)
WORKAROUND: If necessa
ry, enable and configure Scan/Cleanup as described in the
Installation Guide.
Cartridges are not erased when expected if cleanup_autoerase is configured.
Scheduled erasures do not occur when scheduled, though they are eventually erased.
(TL-2388)
Scan/Cleanup page size column reports size on disk of cartridges rather than
data size. The size column on the Scan/Cleanup page shows the file size on disk. Thus,
cartridge data is different on this page than on other pages in the web interface. (TL-2158)
Scan/Cleanup menu option may not be available. Customers using the Scan/
Cleanup feature should confirm that the VTS configuration file contains the
menu_ScanCleanup=”YES” parameter, which displays the scan/cleanup option from
the window drop-down list on the Configure Tapes and Pools page (TL-0505).
WORKAROUND: Add
this line to the VTS configuration file. To edit the VTS
configuration file, click Configuration > System > Edit Configuration File.
