Chapter 7: Using the Serial/Telnet Interface
The main menu appears as follows:

The main menu allows for various operations to be performed on the VT5900-SA.
• Select 1 to access configuration settings. This option is described later in this chapter.
• Select 2 to access System Utilities. This option is described later in this chapter.
• Select 3 to display trace and assertion history. This option is described later in this chapter.
• Select 4 to reboot the VT5900-SA. A confirmation message will appear verifying you want to
do this. If you enter N for No, you are returned to the main menu. If you enter Y for Yes, the
VT5900-SA will restart. This option is further described later in this chapter.
• Select 5 to download a new revision of the firmware. A confirmation message will appear
verifying you want to do this. If you enter N for No, you are returned to the Main menu. If you
enter Y for Yes, the VT5900-SA begins accepting firmware data from the serial port. This
option is further described later in this chapter.
Perform Configuration
The Configuration menu allows the administrator to configure the various options on the VT5900-
SA. For most configuration changes to take effect, you must reboot the VT5900-SA.

Note: Menus are not case sensitive. You can enter uppercase and lowercase
characters interchangeably whenever menus indicate letters as choices.
