Form (page 1 of 3)
Field Meaning
These fields are information you will need for the ADD ADAPTER command:
Concentrator Name Is the name you assign to the SWAN concentrator (#conc-
name).
Configuration Track-ID Is the name of the configuration track-ID located on the rear
panel of the SWAN concentrator
(TRACKID configuration track-ID).
For more information, see either SWAN Concentrator
Label, Configuration Track-ID on page 4-10 or SWAN 2
Concentrator Label, Configuration Track-ID on page 4-10.
Physical Location Is the physical location where the SWAN concentrator is to
be installed, for example, in a particular wiring closet.
GATEWAYIP and
ALTGATEWAYIP
Is the SWAN-side router IP address for Path A and Path B,
respectively.
Ethernet Port A: TCP/IP
Name and IP Address
Indicates the name of the TCP/IP, Parallel Library TCP/IP,
or NonStop TCP/IPv6 process and the IP address of the
subnet that supports the SWAN concentrator
(TCP/IP tcpip-name) through Ethernet port A. This process
is referred to as the preferred TCP/IP process. Note that
Parallel Library TCP/IP is not supported on
NonStop NS-series servers.
Ethernet Port B: TCP/IP
Name and IP Address
Indicates the name of the TCP/IP or Parallel Library
TCP/IP, or NonStop TCP/IPv6 process and the IP address
of the subnet that supports the SWAN concentrator
(ALTTCPIP alt-tcpip-name) through Ethernet port B. This
process is referred to as the alternate TCP/IP process.
Note that Parallel Library TCP/IP is not supported on
NonStop NS-series servers.
These fields are information you should record for possible use in troubleshooting
procedures:
CLIP 1 Path A MAC Address
CLIP 1 Path B MAC Address
CLIP 2 Path A MAC Address
CLIP 2 Path B MAC Address
CLIP 3 Path A MAC Address
CLIP 3 Path B MAC Address
...through CLIP 6 (SWAN 2)
Record the six or twelve (depending on the type of
concentrator) MAC addresses located on the label on the
rear panel of the SWAN concentrator. You might need this
information for possible troubleshooting of network
problems. It might be difficult to obtain this information after
the SWAN concentrator is installed, if, for example, the
SWAN concentrator is installed in a rack and the rear panel
of the SWAN concentrator is not accessible, or if the SWAN
concentrator is remotely located.
These fields are information you will need for the ADD PATH command:
