Configuring and Starting the SWAN Concentrator
Objects
KERNELCODE $SYSTEM.CSSnn.C7953P00 (C7953Q00 for SWAN 2
concentrator)
indicates the name of the firmware object code of the microcode file you want to
run in the essential part of the FLASH memory. The file name specified must be
secured with ā€œNā€ read access. If you are using the 6763 Common Communications
ServerNet adapter (commonly known as SS7), the KERNELCODE file is
C0099P00.
Configuring the SERVER Objects
You must add one SERVER object for each CLIP on the SWAN concentrator. A SWAN
concentrator has three CLIPs and a SWAN 2 concentrator has six CLIPs:
ADD SERVER $ZZWAN.#conc-name.1
ADD SERVER $ZZWAN.#conc-name.2
ADD SERVER $ZZWAN.#conc-name.3
conc-name
indicates the name of the SWAN concentrator as defined in the ADD ADAPTER
command.
Configuring the PATH Objects
SCC1 and SCC2 on each CLIP on the SWAN concentrator are each assigned a MAC
address during manufacturing. Use the SCF ADD PATH command to assign an IP
address for each MAC address.
A SWAN concentrator (T3880) has six PATH objects and a SWAN 2 concentrator
(T3881) has twelve PATH objects.
conc-name
indicates the name of the SWAN concentrator as defined in the ADD ADAPTER
command.
Note. The file specified in the KERNELCODE attribute must be in the subvolume assigned to
the TFTP server process that is configured for the TCP/IP process indicated by the TCP/IP
attribute. For more information, see Configuring and Starting the SWAN Concentrator Objects
on page 4-19.
Example 4-7. Creating the PATH Objects
ADD PATH $ZZWAN.#conc-name.1.A, IPADDRESS ip-address
ADD PATH $ZZWAN.#conc-name.1.B, IPADDRESS ip-address
ADD PATH $ZZWAN.#conc-name.2.A, IPADDRESS ip-address
ADD PATH $ZZWAN.#conc-name.2.B, IPADDRESS ip-address
ADD PATH $ZZWAN.#conc-name.3.A, IPADDRESS ip-address
ADD PATH $ZZWAN.#conc-name.3.B, IPADDRESS ip-address
