Sensitive and Nonsensitive Commands
Sensitive and Nonsensitive Commands
SCF commands are either sensitive or nonsensitive. Sensitive commands can change
the state or configuration of subsystem objects or change the values of statistics
counters; they can cause communications to cease if improperly used. Nonsensitive
commands request information or status but that do not affect operation. The use of
sensitive commands is limited to these user IDs:
•
Members of the super group (group ID 255)
•
Members of the user group that owns the process to which the command is sent
Wild-Card Support
Object name templates (wild cards) are supported for most WAN subsystem SCF
commands as described in the SCF Reference Manual for G-Series RVUs or the SCF
Reference Manual for H-Series RVUs. The description for each command indicates
whether wildcards are supported.
OBEYFORM Support
OBEYFORM allows you to create SCF obey files for your existing WAN configuration
automatically. OBEYFORM can be used by system managers who need to back up the
existing WAN configuration as an SCF obey file. The obey files are also useful for
configuration backup and for deletion or readdition of WAN objects. The SCF obey files
created by OBEYFORM contain a series of ADD and ALTER commands which can
recreate your WAN configuration.
OBEYFORM is supported in these INFO commands: INFO ADAPTER, INFO DEVICE,
INFO PATH, INFO PROCESS. INFO PROFILE, INFO SERVER, and INFO SUBSYS.
This example creates an SCF obey file for the adapter #SWAN00:
INFO /out wanadap/ ADAPTER $ZZWAN.#swan00, OBEYFORM
This example creates an SCF obey file for all the adapters:
INFO /out wanadap/ ADAPTER $ZZWAN.*, OBEYFORM
