ADD ADAPTER Command
address portion of an IP address is subdivided into a subnet number that identifies 
a particular subnet and a host number that identifies a host within the subnet.
To determine a subnet mask, use the INFO SUBNET command as shown in 
Example 6-2 on page 6-15.
TCP/IP tcpip-name
indicates the name of the preferred TCP/IP process that supports the SWAN 
concentrator. 
TRACKID "configuration-track-id"
uniquely identifies the SWAN concentrator. The configuration track-ID is assigned 
when the SWAN concentrator is manufactured. It is located on the label on the rear 
side of the SWAN concentrator and is stored in the SWAN concentrator FRU 
Information Record (FIR).
TYPE type-name
indicates the type of concentrator being configured.
Considerations
•
You must issue a START ADAPTER command before you can use the SWAN 
concentrator.
•
The value for the TRACKID attribute is case-sensitive. If you specify the value 
incorrectly, you cannot use the SWAN concentrator. In this case, the WAN 
subsystem and the OSM discovery processes and TSM (G-series RVUs only) 
Value: An IP address is a 4-octet (32-bit) numeric value. It is specified in 
dotted decimal notation, which represents 4 octets in ASCII, 
separated by periods; for example, 133.50.85.43. Each octet value is 
a number in the range 0 through 255.
Default: None provided.
Value: The name of the TCP/IP process as configured in the TCP/IP sub-
system SCF ADD PROCESS command.
Default: None provided.
Value: Is the six-character ASCII configuration track-ID found on the SWAN 
concentrator label.
Default: None provided.
Value: If a SWAN 2 concentrator is being configured, the value is SWAN 2. If 
SS7 DLCs are being configured, the value is FWCTL. For all other 
types, the value is SYNC.
Default: The value is SYNC.
