ADD DEVICE Command
PATH path-name
indicates which Ethernet path on the SWAN concentrator you prefer the device to
use.
PROFILE [ existing-profile-name | LIKE #existing-device-name }
existing-profile-name specifies a PROFILE name that defines the
modifier-keywords and valid modifier-values for use by a DEVICE object.

existing-device-name indicates the name of an existing DEVICE object.
RECSIZE | RSIZE max-rec-size
max-rec-size is supported by each DEVICE object. This value is returned by the
GET_DEVICE_INFO_ calls issued for the DEVICE after it has been started.
TYPE type , sub-type
indicates the NonStop Kernel registered type and subtype for the DEVICE object.
Considerations
•
The SWAN concentrator must have been previously defined using the ADD
ADAPTER, ADD SERVER, and ADD PATH commands.

The referenced PROFILE object must have been previously defined using the ADD
PROFILE command, if the LIKE option is not used. The referenced PROFILE
object can be in use by more than one DEVICE object at the same time.
Value: The possible values are A or B. A indicates the A Ethernet path. B
indicates the B Ethernet path.
Default: None provided.
Value: The name of the profile as specified in the ADD PROFILE command.
Default: None provided.
Value: The name of the DEVICE object as specified in the ADD DEVICE
command.
Default: None provided.
Value: RECSIZE is defined for each type of data communications sub-
system object in the manuals listed in Table 6-4 on page 6-21.
Default: None provided by the WAN subsystem. If you do not provide a value,
the default in the PROFILE object is used.
Value: DEVICE object types and subtypes for data-communications sub-
system objects are described in the manuals listed in Table 6-4 on
page 6-21.
