START TASK Command
Considerations
•
The SWAN concentrator must have been previously defined through the ADD
ADAPTER, ADD SERVER, and ADD PATH commands.
•
The ADAPTER object must have been previously started through the START
ADAPTER command.
•
The START SERVER command issues a restart command to the CLIP and takes
over control of the CLIP.
•
A START SERVER command forces any other system in control of the CLIP to
relinquish control. The other system automatically issues an ABORT SERVER
command.
•
After the START SERVER command is issued, the WANBoot process starts
responding to BOOTP requests from the CLIP.
START TASK Command
Use the START TASK command to place a data link control (DLC) task’s WANMGR
admin state in the STARTED state. This enables the WAN IOP (DEVICE) to start a
LINE (for example, start a DLC). If the TASK is in a STOPPED state, the WAN IOP
(DEVICE) will not be able to start a line.
You can also use the OSM Service Connection or the TSM Service Application
(G-series RVUs only). For more information about using OSM or TSM, see the online
help within each application.
The START TASK command has this syntax:
START TASK $ZZWAN.#conc-name.clip-num.dlc-task
