B Sample Router Configuration
Example B-1 on page B-2 illustrates a sample router configuration connecting a Cisco
router to a SWAN concentrator.
Assumptions
For the sample router configuration, we have made these assumptions:
Two NonStop S-series servers are located in networks NSK1 and NSK2.
SWAN concentrators are located in networks SWAN1 and SWAN2.
A Cisco router is being used with an IOS greater than 10.0.
Configuration Steps
The router configuration steps are as follows:
1. Execute global command:
a. ip forward-protocol udp bootpc
b. ip forward-protocol udp bootps
2. For all Ethernet interfaces, execute the following:
a. ip directed-broadcast
3. Provide the ip helper addresses as follows:
a. For the Ethernet interface with the network address NSK1, setup the ip helper
address as SWAN1.255.
b. For the Ethernet interface with the network address NSK2, setup the ip helper
address as SWAN2.255.
c. For the Ethernet interface with the network address SWAN1, setup the ip
helper address for NSK1.255.
d. For the Ethernet interface with the network address SWAN2, setup the ip
helper address for NSK2.255
Note. This sample is a vendor configuration and has not been tested by HP Computers.
