Configuration File Contents
Contents of the SCF0000 File
The SCF0000 file contains Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) commands that configure
these WAN subsystem processes and objects:
•
WAN manager process ($ZZWAN)
•
Concentrator manager (ConMgr) processes
•
Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server processes
•
WANBoot processes
•
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent processes
•
SNMP trap multiplexer processes
•
ADAPTER, SERVER, PATH, DEVICE, and PROFILE objects
The SCF0000 file also contains SCF commands that configure and start the LAN
adapters used to connect the SWAN concentrators to a NonStop server; the following
LAN adapters are supported by the concentrators:
•
Ethernet 4 ServerNet adapters (E4SAs)
•
Fast Ethernet ServerNet adapters (FESAs)
•
Gigabit Ethernet ServerNet adapters (GESAs)
•
Gigabit Ethernet 4-port ServerNet adapters (G4SAs)
•
Ethernet ports in a VIO enclosure
Contents of the STARTCOM File
The STARTCOM file contains TACL commands that configure the TCP/IP processes
(and corresponding LISTNER and TELSERV processes) used to support the LAN
adapters defined in the SCF0000 file. The STARTCOM file also invokes the
STARTSCF file.
Contents of the STARTSCF File
The STARTSCF file contains SCF commands that:
•
Configure and start the TCP/IP SUBNET and ROUTE objects for the TCP/IP
processes defined in the STARTCOM file. These SCF commands associate each
LAN adapter’s logical interface (LIF) to a TCP/IP process.
•
Start the WAN subsystem processes and objects configured in the SCF0000 file.
Note. A G4SA can only be installed in an I/O adapter module (IOAM) enclosure. However,
the SLSA G4SA ADAPTER Type can represent Ethernet ports in a Versatile I/O (VIO)
enclosure in H06.08 and subsequent H-series RVUs.
Note. The Ethernet ports in a VIO enclosure (in H06.08 and subsequent H-series RVUs)
are represented by the G4SA adapter type by SLSA.
