Determining the Initial Configuration of a SWAN
Concentrator
The information you need to know includes:
TrackId
is the configuration track-ID configured for this SWAN concentrator.
TCP/IP Name
is the name of the preferred TCP/IP process that supports this SWAN concentrator.
ALTTCPIP Name
is the name of the alternate TCP/IP process that supports this SWAN concentrator.
Concentrator Type
is the type of concentrator. The types supported are SYNC, SWAN2, and FWCTL.
KERNELCODE
is the name of the microcode file configured to run in the essential part of the
FLASH memory.
SNMPCODE
is the name of the object file of the SNMP subagent that is configured to run in the
CLIP.
This attribute is made optional for both SWAN and SWAN 2 concentrators because
the SNMP module is linked with the SWAN NonStop Kernel (in G06.07 and later
RVUs) and does not need to be downloaded.
HOSTIP Address
is the IP address assigned to a SUBNET on the preferred TCP/IP process. This
SUBNET is used by a LIF on an E4SA, FESA, or GESA to connect the SWAN
concentrator to a NonStop S-series server, or on a G4SA to connect the SWAN
concentrator to an Integrity NonStop NS-series server or NonStop S-series server.
ALTHOSTIP Address
is the IP address assigned to a SUBNET on the alternate TCP/IP process. This
SUBNET is used by a LIF on an E4SA, FESA, or GESA to connect the SWAN
concentrator to a NonStop S-series server, or on a G4SA to connect the SWAN
concentrator to an Integrity NonStop NS-series server or NonStop S-series server.
Note. If you are configuring a SWAN 2 concentrator the value is SWAN2. For SS7 DLCs,
the value is FWCTL. For all other types the value is SYNC.
