WAN Subsystem Features
The WAN subsystem controls access to the ServerNet wide area network (SWAN and
SWAN 2) concentrator, which are communications controllers that connect to an
Integrity NonStop NS-series or NonStop S-series server through dual Ethernet ports.
The WAN subsystem is also used to configure and manage wide area network (WAN)
and local area network (LAN) connectivity through the SWAN concentrator for many
data communications subsystems.
Note. Throughout this manual when a distinction between a SWAN concentrator (T3880) and
a SWAN 2 concentrator (T3881) is not required, SWAN concentrator is used as a collective
term.

Subsystem (page 1 of 2)
Subsystem Description Object
AM3270 Enables application programs to configure 3270-
compatible devices connected to communications
lines on the SWAN concentrator.

ATP6100 Enables application programs to configure asyn-
chronous terminals, printers, and other devices
connected to communications lines on the SWAN
concentrator.
Line-handler process
CP6100 Provides general-purpose protocol support that
enables application programs to pass data, initiate
protocol sequences, and control error recovery on
communications lines on the SWAN concentrator.
CP6100 is commonly used for custom device
support.
