WAN Subsystem Features
This manual does not describe the requirements imposed on the configuration of the
data communications subsystems described in Table 2-1 on page 2-1. To understand
product-specific requirements for each data communication subsystem, see these
manuals.
Envoy Provides general-purpose protocol support that
enables application programs or terminals to com-
municate over communications lines on the
SWAN concentrator.
Line-handler process
EnvoyACP/XF Enables application programs to configure auto-
mated teller machine (ATM) devices and termi-
nals to communicate over communications lines
on the SWAN concentrator.
Line-handler process
Expand Enables as many as 255 geographically dis-
persed NonStop servers to be linked together to
create a network with the reliability, capacity to
preserve data integrity, and potential expansion of
a single NonStop server. Direct-connect, satellite-
connect, Expand-over-X.25, and Expand-over-
SNA line-handler processes use communications
lines on the SWAN concentrator.

process ($NCP)
SNAX/APN Enables application programs to configure 3270-
compatible devices connected to communications
lines on the SWAN concentrator.
