SWAN Concentrator Configuration Limits
SWAN Concentrator Configuration Limits
The SWAN concentrator configuration entities are the same for SWAN and SWAN 2.
The configuration limits of various objects are the same for the SWAN, SWAN 2, or a
mix of the two.
The SCF subsystem allows you to configure 3600 lines using any configuration of
SWAN and SWAN 2 concentrators.
For example, if all three CLIPs are configured for each SWAN concentrator, you can
configure a maximum of 1200 SWAN concentrators. But if only one CLIP is configured
for each SWAN concentrator, you can configure a maximum of 3600 entities.
The number of SWAN concentrators that can be configured also depends on the
amount of memory available to the WAN manager process. The default memory
allocation allows configuration of approximately 350 SWAN concentrators, so the
values described above cannot be achieved without allocating more memory to the
WAN manager process by changing the startup parameter DATAPAGES (see
Example 2-1 on page 2-24).
