6. Start the DEVICE object for the new X25AM line-handler process by using the SCF
START DEVICE command.

Reconfiguring an Ethernet Port
A SWAN concentrator is configured by HP manufacturing to connect to the ports on
two Ethernet 4 ServerNet adapters (E4SAs), two Fast Ethernet ServerNet adapters
(FESAs), two Gigabit Ethernet ServerNet adapters (GESAs), two Gigabit
Ethernet 4-port ServerNet adapters (G4SAs), or two VIO enclosures (in H06.08 and
subsequent H-series RVUs). This configuration provides more fault tolerance for the
input/output processes (IOPs) that use lines on the SWAN concentrator.
The steps below summarize reconfiguration of an Ethernet port (For more information,
see the Ethernet Port Reconfiguration Example):
1. Select a port on a different E4SA, FESA, GESA, G4SA, or in different VIO
enclosures for the new connection.
2. Identify the TCP/IP process that supports the new E4SA, FESA, GESA, or G4SA
port.
3. Reconfigure the ADAPTER object for the SWAN concentrator to use the new
E4SA, FESA, GESA, or G4SA port.
4. Reconfigure the GATEWAYIP address if you are using Ethernet routers to connect
your SWAN concentrator.
5. To reconfigure both ports, perform Steps 1 through 4 for the other port.

Note. A G4SA can be installed in an I/O adapter module (IOAM) enclosure or can represent
the Ethernet ports in a VIO enclosure. (SLSA represents the Ethernet ports in slots 6 and 7 of
the VIO enclosure as G4SAs.) For more information about connecting the SWAN concentrator
