  Examples of valid strings:
a) Selecting a single word: CPU
b) Selecting a phrase: CPU Down
c) Using the AND operator: CPU 'And' TMF
d) Using the OR operator: CPU 'Or' TMF
Note that AND and OR combination cannot be used together and the UI will gray out the opposite if one is
selected
e.g. (CPU & PROCESS) | (DISC)
Do not include any spaces between the operators.
E.g. To search for MSMGR and connect use MSMGR&connect and not MSMGR & connect.
Note: Please keep in mind that if a number is input, then it is possible for the result to query Event
Number. The String Pattern queries all tokens not just Text.
D. Presentation:These settings determine the display options and formats of the EMS messages.
Display Template: A Display Template is used to customize the display of EMS events. It can be created from
the Admin menu options (Refer to
Display Template). If display templates are present then the dropdown box
will be populated with the name of the templates. The user can choose a template from the list or can leave it
empty in which case the default style will be taken under consideration. In case the user chooses a template
then EMS messages will be displayed according to the tokens mentioned in the display template. The width of
each token will be whatever has been defined in the template. If an event doesn’t have a value for a token
then that column will remain empty for that event.
Start with last:This has two options: Last n messages and last n minutes. In case of ‘last n messages’ for multi-
residents, last n EMS messages of each resident will be displayed (in alphabetic order of resident name) and
then the live events will be displayed as they occur from any resident.
In case of ‘last n messages’ for single-residents, last n EMS messages of the logged in resident will be displayed
and then the live events will be displayed as they occur. Using the ‘last n minutes’ option for multi-residents,
events from each node will be displayed in order of the generating time. When multiple residents are selected
and the maximum number of events for ANY of the residents selected is reached the page will be refreshed
and events will continue from the refreshed page. The rate at which events are generated on different
residents is random and hence the count of events shown at the bottom of live window will appear to be
random. The limit is 300 for either message or minutes.
