CHAPTER 2: INSTALLATION &CONFIGURATION
2.1 OVERVIEW
This chapter provides the different types of installations that you can perform and the requirements you should
consider before installing the software.
Web ViewPoint offers users a flexible PC Wizard based tool to automate most of the install and upgrade process.
Configuration data is collected either through user input or copied from an existing configuration on the PC then
the particular configuration files are built and pushed to the NonStop server. This process greatly simplifies and
streamlines the Web ViewPoint install and/or upgrade process.

2.2 PRE-INSTALLATION TASKS
The user should read the following section before starting the install process to understand the basic requirements
and to make the proper preparations Network configuration details are needed in order to complete the install

MONITOR SETTINGS:
The compatible screen resolution range for WVP is
Lowest: 1024 by 768
Highest: 1280 by 1024
If the resolution is made any lower or higher than the specified value, the data in the graphs will not be very clear
as they either become too small or too large. Resizing is not possible at very low or high resolutions. In
Performance-WebDash live monitor, the screen resizes the panels initially based on the resolution. If the
resolution is not within the specified limits then the data in panels and graphs are very difficult to read and may
result in egregious display. Also after the panels are aligned based on the screen size, if the screen size is altered,
the panels do not realign themselves.
JAVA SETTINGS:
The new PC based installer is a Java based program. Therefore make sure that Java is installed on the PC being
used for the install before launching this installation Wizard. The installer is compatible with JRE 1.6.24 and
