1-3
Architecture of the X25AM Subsystem
•
The Communications Management Interface (CMI), which can be used to
configure, control, and collect information from the X25AM subsystem.
•
The Communications Utility Program (CUP), which allows you to obtain statistics
and status information about X25AM lines and subdevices; alter the attributes of
lines, subdevices, and line-handler processes; add and delete subdevices; start
and stop subdevices; and clear virtual circuits.
•
The Peripheral Utility Program (PUP), which allows you to bring line-handler
processes up or down, switch line-handler processes between processors, and list
information about lines and subdevices.
•
The File Utility Program (FUP), which allows you to obtain information about the
openers of subdevices.
These are the programmatic interfaces available to the X25AM subsystem:
•
The control-and-inquiry interface, which allows an application to configure, control,
and collect information from the X25AM subsystem by sending requests to and
receiving responses from the subsystem. Requests are sent to the line-handler
processes through the Subsystem Control Point (SCP).
•
The Event Management System (EMS), which allows an application to obtain
notification of events reported by the line-handler processes.
