About The TAL Example
Loopback Testing Functionality
You can use a program such as this one to perform loopback testing. To do so, use an
interface such as SCF to designate terminal “A,” and its associated X25AM subdevice,
“b.” Use SCF to designate terminal “B,” and its associated X25AM subdevice, “a “ as in
the following diagram.
Invoking the TAL Example
To invoke the following application program, named PTPMODE0, use the standard
Guardian System RUN command at the TACL prompt. The line $X25line.#ptp must
be previously defined using SCF.
RUN ptpmode0/IN terminal_name, OUT $X25line.#ptp/
When the PTPMODE0 program completes, you return to the TACL prompt.
COMM^FILE Local (logical) X25AM process or subdevice. You
may informally refer to this as the X25 line, although
that term is not technically correct, for the purposes
of this program.
LOCAL
SUBDEVICE
Local X25AM process. The same as COMM^FILE.
REMOTE
SUBDEVICE
Remote X25 process. This refers to the process,
device, or subdevice that we are calling or receiving
a call from.
