3 PTP Applications
This section discusses:
Overview of PTP Protocol
Applications can exchange data with a remote device by using the process-to-process
(PTP) protocol to access X25AM. Higher level subsystems and applications, such as
OSI, TCP/IP, and X3PAD use the PTP protocol to interface with an X25AM process. A
remote device can be anything that exchanges data with an X.25 network.
An application can exchange data with a remote device using various formats:
