Chapter 1. Installing XAC
This chapter describes installing or upgrading the XYGATE XAC files, updating the
XYGATE licenses and then guides you through the process of securing your
installation. Running the AutoInstall script is a guided installation with minimal SUPER
command line input except where noted.
1.1 Before You Begin
Ensure that you have the following information ready before you begin the installation
procedures:
• Administrator privileges for your PC.
• The name of the TACL service.
• SUPER.SUPER ID or an alias to SUPER.SUPER.
• The TCP/IP address or the host name of the NonStop server where you wish to
install the XYGATE products.
1.2 Installing XAC Using the Automated Install Script
The AutoInstall script is designed for an easy installation of the XAC server pieces by
providing default run-time parameters which can be changed later.
If you are installing XAC from a CD or DVD, the setup program will place an
automated install/upgrade script and an uninstall script on the host in a distributed
subvol (DSV) location whose default value is $SYSTEM.ZXYPROAC.
Upgrading the XAC software using the AutoInstall script is described in section 1.3,
“Upgrading XAC and/or XTR Using the AutoInstall Script” starting on page 11.
1.2.1 Preparing for the AutoInstall Script installation
The AutoInstall script will perform the following tasks automatically:
• Install the XYGATEAC product software.
• Install the XYGATETR product software.
• Configure the XAC and XTR environments using default values.
• Start a LISTNER process for the connection of GUI products to XYGATETR
(optional).
