4.10.2 Service Process Monitoring Function
If the XSW Service Process Monitor function is enabled (item 5 on page 45 and shown
below), this will monitor the service process status in “real time.” It will automatically
restart if the PC or NonStop server is restarted. This form also has the ability to display
the XSW Service Process log file (XSWSPlog.txt) and show the current status of the
service process.
The service process will maintain its status in several ways:
• Send emails if the email address is provided when Managing Service Process.
• Write to the xswSvLog Event Log any relevant status changes.
• Write to the main XSW GUI log file (XSWlog.txt).
• Write to the XSW Service Process log file (XSWSPlog.txt).
Each XSW user can monitor the above communication channels to determine the
current status of the XSW Service Process by enabling the function (item 5 on
page 45).
When the XSW Service Process has been installed for the XSW Database being used,
the XSW GUI window will display a Service Process status button in the top-right
corner as shown below.
This button has three colors to indicate the monitoring status of the service process:
Green Polling
Yellow Sleeping but polling
Red Stopped
