5.3 Selecting Collection Files for Hashing
Click Select Hashing (item 7 on page 95) on the Resource Selections tab (item 3) to
launch the Hashing form. The Select Collection Files form will appear as shown below
for the Collection Name specified in item 1 on page 95.
The Select Collection Files form allows the user to select specific Guardian Files
and/or OSS Files in order to collect hashing data to be used in System Integrity
Checks. This screen will display multiple tabs depending upon whether or not
Guardian Files and/or OSS Files were chosen.
The left panel above shows a tree structure listing all Guardian Volumes or OSS top-
level directories by node. The right panel shows a grid listing all Guardian Files or OSS
Files for those Volumes or Directories that have been expanded in the tree.
Note: This can be a CPU-intensive operation. Selecting a large amount of data to be
hashed will require CPU resources. CPU spikes may be seen. This is not a
cause for concern unless accompanied by high CPU-queue lengths. Higher
priority processes will not be prevented from getting the CPU time they request
just because a lower priority process is consuming lots of CPU time.
