Chapter 6. Data Discovery Rules
XYPRO Technology Corporation 132 Proprietary and Confidential
Enter, select or create a Policy Class name for this new policy. It will be displayed
under this class on the treeview.
The Policy Name is defaulted to the Rule Name, but may be changed.
The Auto-Export selections Y/N can be set as described in the common functions.
The Priority Level is a reference setting to identify more critical or less critical
policies.
The Description field is used to enter text information on what the policy checks.
The Reference field allows you to enter a reference number or identification.
The Notification drop-down lets you identify a person to email when this policy
changes.
Click Add. If you have too many rows (greater than 3,000) in your query, the
software will not support converting the query into a policy. If you have less than
3,000 rows but more than 1,000, you will be warned that it may take a few minutes
to convert your query results to a policy. Click OK to continue.
The new policy screen will appear with your data on it. Refer to Chapter 7, “System
Policy Analyzer” starting on page 135 for more information.
Note: All the rows you just added are marked in both the Recent and Failed Results
tabs. Their presence on Recent is only until you collect another set of data; they
will then be replaced by any new failures that are found. The rows will be part of
the Failed Results tab until they are resolved, removed from the system or
excluded from consideration.
