Introduction
XYPRO Technology Corporation xvi Proprietary and Confidential
PC that will be querying the data and on the PC that controls the data collection
definitions. (Please note that the PC GUI installation controlling the data collection can
also be used to query the data.)
The ACCESS tables containing the data can be located anywhere on the network that
is accessible to the various GUIs querying the data. When the process to download
the data is used, it is most efficient to place this database on the same PC or network
server as the optional process. This will help in keeping minimal network traffic
involved in downloading the data from the NonStop host to the ACCESS Tables
containing the rules. This can be singular, which is; one for the entire network, or
duplicated on every user’s PC. The Loader process that is run to upload the raw
collected data from the HP NonStop server, normalizes and updates the ACCESS
data tables. The Loader also does the comparisons for detecting changes from one
collection to the next.
Finally, the optional download process can be used to download the data from the
HP NonStop server without human intervention. The optional process, called the
xswService process, can be located on a network server and download the data for
all GUI users, or it can be located on an individual PC for a single user’s access.
