Chapter 7. System Policy Analyzer
XYPRO Technology Corporation 145 Proprietary and Confidential
If the collection finds new items that match the policy’s rule and the user preference
setting is Delete (item 8 on page 45), new failed items are added.
If the collection finds new items and the preference setting is Keep (item 8 on
page 45), then it checks for this item to be in the resolved state. If the state is resolved,
the item is reinstated to the last known state, either failed or excluded. When deleted
items are not permanently deleted, tracking over time can show recurring items.
7.6.2 Manually Applying a Collection and Dataset to the Policy
There may be a time when you want to change the collection defined for a policy. To
change the collection, you must manually apply the policy to the new dataset. The
application of a new collection and dataset is initiated from the Security Policy window
by clicking Apply.
The Link Policy Setup pane will appear.
There are three important sets of information on this screen.
This is the information regarding the last Collection and associated Dataset that
was applied to this Security Policy.
When you have selected a new Dataset from the drop-down list of Available
Datasets within the specified Collection, information regarding the Dataset is
displayed.
