Merged Collections Warning! XSW has limited ability to know whether a merged
Dataset is complete. Assume that you are going to merge three nodes. You collect the
three nodes separately. You load the first Node (Primary Node) and then you load one
of the subordinate Nodes. You fail to load the last subordinate Node. Then you apply
the Dataset to a Security Rule or Security Policy.
7.7 Setting Auto-Export and Notifications
Auto-export can be set up on any individual System Policy, Integrity Check, Best
Practice category and saved Access Map, as well as any alternate tree tab report, as
long as the user’s preferences are configured and turned on in the Auto-export Options
on page 47 (items 15 to 20). This feature allows a more granular way of specifying
auto-exports and notification emails.
To set the auto-export and notification options for System Policies, use the Properties
tab; the Maintenance tab function is available from the Review Results window.
Auto-export is set on a policy-by-policy basis unless set from the treeview by right-
clicking on Set Auto-Export ON/OFF.
The Notification email has to be specified on the Maintenance tab, plus, in order to
generate an email notification, the email properties have to be set in the User
Preferences screen (items 1 and 2 on page 45 and then item 18 on page 47).
