Chapter 8. Best Practice Policy

When the Recommended value and Discovered value are different, the rule fails. To
correct this situation you have several choices:
Disable the rule
The rule does not apply to your system
Update the discovered Value
By clicking Update, the recommended value is updated to
match the discovered value. All subsequent collection
comparisons should pass the rule.
Updating the host
Modify the setting or value on the host node and all
subsequent collection comparisons should pass the rule
Update the recommended value
to a new value
Use the Best Practice Rule Builder function or modify the
host value or setting to the new value. After the subsequent
collection, update the rule to the new discovered value.
8.6 Setting Auto-Export and Notifications
To set up the auto-export and notification options for Best Practices, right-click on the
Best Practice Rule Builder function on the treeview at the node level. This displays
the Best Practice Policy Template window shown below.
You can select specific categories from the drop-down list and then setup the auto-
export and notification specifications. Auto-export is set on a category level unless set
from the treeview by right-clicking on Set Auto-Export ON/OFF.
