Chapter 1. Installing Compliance PRO
(XSW)
This chapter describes the installation procedure for the XYGATE Compliance PRO
(XSW) software using the AutoInstall script.
1.1 Pre-Installation Considerations
1. Map the node connections you will make to gather the data. Your XSW
environment is organized around “host connections,” which are connections
between the XSW PC based software and an HP NonStop server and “Expand
connections,” which are other NonStop servers connected to a host connection via
Expand. Host connections will require XSW and XTR software and a port
configured to listen to traffic from the PC.
2. Configure the PORT entry in the PORTCONF file for your new XTR installation if
one is needed. If you are upgrading an existing installation, you probably have a
PORT entry for your XYGATETR process already in the PORTCONF.
3. Decide which disk has enough space for the temporary XSW work files on each
node.
4. Determine which batch processing program XSW will interface with.
5. Install the host component of XSW on every node, host or Expand where data will
be collected.
6. Configure the SWACL file (refer to Appendix B:”The SWACL File”).
Note: XTR must be at release 1.50 or higher to work with XSW 2.60 or higher.
7. Install the GUI component on your Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server,
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 Server, or Windows 2000 system or
higher.
8. If you are using a network server to store the data and want automated downloads,
it is recommended that you install the GUI component on that network server in
order to be able to configure, start and stop the service process that manages the
automatic downloads.
9. Configure the XSWConf.ini file to define which features the user can use.
10. Secure the utilities that XSW uses, secure XSW’s object code and macros and
secure XSW’s data subvolumes. Secure XTR’s object code and support files.
