Chapter 1. Installing Compliance PRO (XSW)
XYPRO Technology Corporation 2 Proprietary and Confidential
The first time you use the XSW software, we recommend running a manual collection
and load. At this point you can connect to other nodes as needed, create collections,
download collected data, generate queries against that data, develop policies and
examine Best Practices as needed.
1.2 Before You Begin
Ensure that you have the following information ready before you begin the installation
procedure:
Administrator privileges for your PC.
The name of the TACL service.
SUPER.SUPER ID or an alias to SUPER.SUPER.
The TCP/IP address or the host name of the NonStop server where you wish to
install the XYGATE products.
1.3 Installing XSW Using the Automated Install Script
The AutoInstall script is designed for an easy installation of the XSW server pieces by
providing default run-time parameters which can be changed later.
If you are installing XSW from a DVD, the setup program will place an automated
install/upgrade script and an uninstall script on the host in a distributed subvol (DSV)
location whose default value is $SYSTEM.ZXYPROSW.
When upgrading existing server software, the AutoInstall script will locate the current
environment and upgrade the software to the most recent version without changing the
already installed parameter and data repository values.
1.3.1 Preparing for the AutoInstall Script installation
The AutoInstall script will perform the following tasks automatically:
• Install the XYGATESW product software.
• Install the XYGATETR product software.
• Configure the XYGATE XSW and XYGATE XTR environments using default
values.
• Start a LISTNER process for the connection of GUI products to XYGATETR
(optional).
Access to HP subsystems and utilities
The AutoInstall script will use or require the following HP tools and functions. You
should ensure that you have access to these functions before starting the script:
