Chapter 11. Access Analysis Mapping
XYPRO Technology Corporation 192 Proprietary and Confidential
11.5.1 How User Entries are Expanded in Safeguard Queries
Each Protection Record mask is expanded for each user in the ACL as described
below:
<group name>.* or <group number>,* will expand to all members of the <group>.
For Example, SUPER.* and 255,* will expand to all members of the SUPER group.
*.* will expand to every user on the system.
\*.<group>.* will expand to every <group> member on all nodes included in the
Collection.
\*.*.* will expand to every user on all nodes included in the Collection.
If the user identified in the ACLs by User or Files by User queries is also in a
filesharing group that is referenced, these ACLs will also participate. This only applies
to these two queries.
11.5.2 The Safeguard Access Queries
The available queries are:
ACLs by User
ACLs by Object
Files by User
Subvols Xref
ACLs Xref
ACLs by Object Query
Entering an exact or wild-carded file mask will return a listing of all Protection Records
that protect files that match the mask.
There will be one row per file, per ACL_NAME, so if a Protection Record includes six
ACL entries, there will be a row for each of the six entries.
Example 1:
$VOL.INVENTDB
21MAR07, 7:54 \*.253,1 THAWED OFF
\*.240,255 R,W, P,C
\*.241,255 R,W, P,C
\*.242,255 R,W
GROUP \*.00240 R, C
GROUP \*.00241 R,W
GROUP \*.00242 R
The Protection Record in Example 1 will return rows for \*.240,255, \*.241,255,
\*.242,255, \*.240,*, \*.241,* and \*.242,*:
