Here are the rules for copying reports on tree tabs:
• Existing reports of the same name are not overwritten. If there is a difference in the
underlying policy, this is neither updated nor evaluated, only the duplication of
name is checked.
• Reports that are not supported by an underlying policy are skipped. This most
often happens when copying from one node to another node.
2.3.8 Generating Reports
Several methods can apply to generating reports from the alternate tree tabs. Each
node can generate a summary report for all items under that node. Each alternate
group and category can generate a summary report for the items associated to it from
the right-click on the group name or category name.
Each policy can be reviewed and a detailed report can be generated from the
associated review screen. This can be done by expanding the associated tree item
and right-clicking on the item. There will be a choice to review results and run a report.
Because the types of reports may be different, they are reviewed to their underlying
type; any System Policy, Best Practice category, Integrity Check category or saved
Access Map. Expand the associated item for more details.
Create Default Node Reports
To add the set of default reports for a new node name or to update an existing node to
include any default reports that are provided by the XSW product, use the Create
Default Node Reports. This function will add any reports to the selected node that are
provided by the product as a baseline. Once added, these reports will reflect the
current state of the underlying node and will be updated upon each applicable
collection. Additional reports should be added to reflect the unique environment of the
node.
Reports for which there is no underlying query or matching underlying category cannot
be added at this time. It is recommended that you generate your first full collection
before performing this function. Any user-defined reports will not be affected by this
function.
