Select Yes or No to implement the Auto-export function for defining all entities.
Auto-export allows you to automatically create files containing the data for entities
that have been generated in the XSW application. For instance, you can export a
file containing Access Mapping data. The exported file can be then used within
other tools or applications.
Note: Disabling auto-export at this level disables it for all functions within XSW.
Select a default format for files generated using the auto-export feature.
Note: Microsoft Excel
®
(.XLS) has a 65,000 row limit. Data that exceeds 65,000
rows will automatically be exported as TAB-delimited to a .txt file.
Select a retention method for exported files.
If you select New File, a new filename will be generated upon each export,
keeping any existing files.
If you select Replace Data, the data in the existing file will be replaced upon
each export, keeping the same name.
If the Export Location happens to change, new files will always be created in
the designated directory set on the Preferences form. Regardless of which
retention method is set, it is assumed that the export location will supersede
the retention setting.
Select the email userid to be notified when a file is automatically exported. A
formatted email will be sent for each export to this user.
Select a physical location to which to save the reports. Normally, this is an external
location to the normal XSW directories, as the nature of auto-export is to share
information with other groups or applications. (Refer to section 4.5.1, “Exported File
Naming Convention” on page 72.)
You can enable or disable each entity for auto-export by checking or un-checking
the respective boxes. You can also enable or disable auto-export at the level of
each item within these categories for further refinement.
Click OK to accept these values.
