Chapter 3. Starting Compliance PRO (XSW) the First Time
XYPRO Technology Corporation 52 Proprietary and Confidential
3.5 Downloading the First Collection
When the dataset collection is complete, the Start Load button will be enabled on the
Collection Status table of the Collection Wizard page. Click Start Load, and the
Collection Loader will be displayed to start downloading the dataset.
Later, you can configure automatic downloads using the XSW Service Process to
eliminate this step and to routinely poll the hosts for ready collections. This is
discussed section 4.10, “Connection Configurations” on page 80.
The Collection Loader appears in an MS Windows box. You do not have to watch what
happens in the box; the XSWclog.txt logfile can be used to look at the collection
download activity after the collection has been downloaded.
When the Collection Loading process is complete, select Refresh Tree from the Tools
menu, or press Ctrl+R to get the new information integrated into the tree display.
Note: The collection loading process is dependent on the bit rate of your network
connection, the speed of your PC and the size of the dataset being downloaded.
This can take several minutes to load. Other programs running on your PC will
continue to execute, as will the XSW main program.
Note: You can configure XSW to monitor the communication channels to determine
the current status of the XSW Service Process download. This is described in
more detail in section 4.10.2, “Service Process Monitoring Function” on page 83.
3.6 Reviewing the Collection Download Status
When the collection has been downloaded, you can integrate the collection information
into the tree in the left pane by clicking the Refresh icon or Ctrl+R. You can then
review the status of this collection using one of the methods described is section 5.7,
Checking on the Host Completion Status” on page 113.
