Chapter 4. Common Screen Functions
XYPRO Technology Corporation 62 Proprietary and Confidential
One row can be selected by clicking the row indicator on the left of the row or by
clicking any cell in a row.
Multiple rows can be selected by clicking the row indicator and 1) using the Shift+
click method to select a group of contiguous rows, and 2) using the Ctrl+ click
method to select non-contiguous rows.
Columns can be selected by holding down the Shift key and then clicking the column
header. This changes the focus from row-selection to a column-selection state.
Multiple columns can be selected by using this technique.
Data in contiguous rows and columns can be blocked as selected by dragging the
mouse over the area. The area of rows and columns will be highlighted.
If a light-yellow top row is presented on the grid, you can enter characters to filter the
rows in the grid. This may not apply to all grids.
In many cases a detail row can be drilled-down to a user-friendly format as shown in
displaying a drilled-down row by double-clicking on a row.
Columns can be rearranged by picking the column and dragging it to another position
in the grid and dropping it.
The grid button functions are as follows:
The buttons under the grid perform functions on the grid rows or selections. Some
buttons are not functional on column data, such as the Delete button. These buttons
will be disabled when non-row selections are made on the grid.
The Select All | Unselect button can be used to select all the rows of the grid and
then to return the state of the grid to the previous groupings. This button is always
available.
The Send To button has multiple functions as described later to allow you to send data
from the grid to other formats.
The following table shows buttons that may be available as grid buttons on appropriate
windows. Not all buttons apply to every window.
