Chapter 6. Configuring MOVERs
XYPRO Technology Corporation 114 Proprietary and Confidential
4. Run the command file to create the MOVERs.
Note: The XYGATESR object file, which is used to normalize Safeguard audit data for
insertion into the XMA database, has an accompanying file called SRLIB which
must be licensed on all nodes. A macro named REMFIN has been provided to
help you with this process. You will be prompted to perform this task when you
create remote Safeguard MOVERs.
MOVER Creation Command File
This command file is created by the Discovery process. It will contain a complete list of
all your XYGATE product installations: SAFEGUARD, EMS, and BASE24 MOVERs,
as well as a MOVER to add MEASURE ancestry data.
Note: The Discovery process will not create HLR, iTP or BASE24-eps MOVERs.
When this file is executed, a file called DISCOVER will be created. The DISCOVER file
will only contain the information about the MOVERs that are actually created.
Note: Your command file will be deleted once it has been executed successfully. If you
want to retain a copy, you must make the copy before you issue the command
to create the MOVERs.
During the Discovery process, you will be given the opportunity to review and alter the
command file. For example, if you do not want to create the Measure MOVER, change
the INSTALL value from N(o) to Y(es). You may want to add a second MOVER for one
of the XYGATE products. You can do so by duplicating an existing entry and changing
the target audit trail information to the correct node, volume, subvolume, and file mask.
Note: The default value for the INSTALL keyword for a Measure MOVER is N(o).
When the MOVER creation command file is executed, the MOVER Administrative
Tables are updated with the information contained in the command File.
Sample Discovery Operation
Begin by creating the MOVER creation command file. Select Movers Management
Menu, option 1 (page 101). This will display the Discover Menu. You will be prompted
for the node where you want to discover products first. You can choose to discover on
all nodes or choose a single node. During the Discovery process, you will have the
opportunity to select more nodes and also more product subvolume masks.
In this section, it is assumed that you have just installed XMA for the first time and wish
to add several MOVER Serverclasses.
