Chapter 1. Installing XMA
XYPRO Technology Corporation 2 Proprietary and Confidential
1.2.1 Preparing for the AutoInstall Script installation
The AutoInstall script will perform the following tasks automatically:
• Install the XYGATEMA product software.
• Install the XYGATETR product software.
• Configure the XYGATE XMA and XYGATE XTR environments using default
values.
• Create the XYGATEMA SQL catalog and associated SQL tables.
• Create the XYGATEMA Pathway environment.
• Start the XYGATEMA Pathway and start the Pathway servers.
• Start a LISTNER process for connection of GUI products to XYGATETR (optional).
User-Defined Configuration Values Required for AutoInstall
You have the option of specifying the user-defined values shown in Table 1 when
using the AutoInstall script. If you do not specify a value, AutoInstall will use default
values given in Table 2. If necessary, contact your system manager for input to these
questions.
Note: To avoid any negative impact to overall system performance, it is recommended
that the SQL Catalog and SQL Tables be placed on a TMF Audited volume
other than $SYSTEM.
Table 1: User-Defined Input Values for AutoInstall
Provide the following Information for the AutoInstall Script Value
A TMF Audited volume and subvolume name for the SQL catalog
and tables
A unique <4-character> name for the Pathway process; for
example $ZXMA
A unique $VOL.SVOL for the installed software for XMA
A unique $VOL.SVOL for the installed software for XTR
A PORT number between 1025-32000 for the TCP/IP LISTNER
process
Additional users or aliases that need access to run XMA (optional)
AutoInstall Default Configuration Values
If necessary, contact your system manager for any conflicts or considerations. You can
change these values after the AutoInstall script is completed.
